School trustees approve student trips

In other business at the Monday, Nov. 10 meeting of the Clarkston Community Schools Board of Education:
• Trustees approved an extended field trip for the Clarkston High School Varsity Concert Choir and Madrigals. The musicians will attend the National Gold Choral Festival in New York City March 18-22.
Students and school-approved fundraisers will provide the $400 per student cost for 60 students.
• The Clarkston High School Student Council will also travel, after approval of their trip to the Michigan Association of Student Councils conference in Traverse City March 24-29.
The Student Council budget (with money from various fundraisers) will cover the estimated $235 per student.
• Trustees recognized winners of the First Quarter Employee Recognition Award. Winners included:
Clarkston High School — teachers Kelly O’Melia and Breana Davis and school psychologist Tina Verlinden; Clarkston Middle School — secretaries Debbie Sabo and Patricia Call and office clerk Carla Endreszl; Student Support Services — AI team leader Lisonn Delcamp, teaching associate Dianne Kitson and speech pathologist Sarah Evans; North Sashabaw Elementary — media support technician Ellen Buday, head custodian Tim Berquist and office aide Linda Hamilton.
Pine Knob Elementary — teacher Phyllis Ness; Clarkston Elementary — teacher Danna Fox and aide Jennie Mispelon; Bailey Lake Elementary — teacher Heidi Patterson and aides Lori Hall and Dawn Moyer; Andersonville Elementary — Tammy Barnes.
