Second shutout paves way for season ender

The gridiron gang shut down another team Friday night, for their second week in a row. They beat Oak Park at the Knights field, 35-0.
‘It was a nice win, but I still wasn’t satisfied with it,? said Wolves Varsity Football Coach Kurt Richardson. ‘We got to play with more passion. Plain and simple.?
Quarterback Tyler Scarlett led the boys by scoring two touchdowns during the game. Dakota Bender, Kyle Rivenburgh, and Derek Booker added three more touchdowns.
‘Everyone got a lot of playing time, so that was fun. One of the highlights on defense was Andrew Schram had two interceptions. It was nice to see,? said Richardson.
The boys are now getting ready for their next game this Friday against Farmington Hills Harrison, who recently lost to Rochester Adams, 32-14.
‘Harrison is coming in a wounded animal,? said Richardson. ‘If they lose it, they are out of the playoffs. They are fighting for their lives.?
Harrison is two games away from securing a spot in the MHSAA playoffs and the Wolves are only one game away.
‘We have got a little more room to work than they do,? said Richardson. ‘But we’re both fighting for our lives.?
Scarlett was 6-for-10 passing for 143 yards. He had six carries for 63 yards.
Bender rushed 79 yards on 11 carries.
