Sickness battle for state rep

State Rep. Andrea Schroeder, of Independence Township, announced last Tuesday she is undergoing treatment for recurrent cancer.
Schroeder was originally diagnosed with stomach cancer in August 2018 and underwent a total gastrectomy in 2019.
“Earlier this year, I fought off general infections, but it became apparent to my doctors several weeks ago the cancer was back and active,” Schroeder said. “I’m undergoing immunotherapy and we are pleased with the results so far.”
Schroeder considers this to be a temporary health concern.
“I will continue my work both as your representative and caucus majority whip and keep fighting for your priorities,” she said.
The residents of the 43rd District, which includes Clarkston, Waterford, Independence Township, and Lake Angelus, will continue to be served and can contact Schroeder by email at andreaschroeder@house.mi.gov or by phone at 517-373-0615.
