Starting over with food

Broccoli, cauliflower, green beans – I have your attention now, don’t I, with vegetables.
Those are the three vegetables I ate today – four cups of health.
I am back on what I consider the bootcamp plan with Nuview Nutrition. It’s the only way I could be good while eating without going off the wagon because there is no way at eating bad. Absolutely not. It has already paid off – 22 pounds are gone.
It’s easy and not too bad, but I am saying this on a good day.
Bad days consist of thinking of bad food – pizza with stringy cheese and greasy pepperoni slices; macaroni and cheese and a sandwich from Panera Bread; any type of cheesecake or just all from the Cheesecake Factory; the Brownie Skillet from Woodshop (ohmygoodness.) If you couldn’t tell I made notes for this week’s column during a bad day.
But being away from the sugar and the fatty foods has helped me remember reactions to it. (The perks of not having a gallbladder.)
I feel more energized. I don’t have a need for coffee and have been coffee free for 22 days. But then again, I only want a latte and I can’t have one. I might break and have a cup of coffee one day but right now I am fine. When I wake up, I am up.
Eating better will also help Baby Jonathan as he grows up and teaching the nutritious value of the food he consumes.
He has had his first vegetable – green beans. He made a quite a few disapproving face, but he ate it without spitting it out or pushing the spoon away. We moved on to fruit – pears. No faces and also ate with no problem.
As for eating oatmeal on Sunday, he grabbed the spoon and began feeding himself, spending extra seconds sucking on the spoon.
He is working on his speed crawling and stands (with support of furniture or holding onto someone’s legs.)
JD was busy last week as he joined me for cheer photos, where he charmed with his bright blue eyes. Then, he joined me for Rush for Food. For games in the fall, well he has a bedtime around 8 p.m. and gets grumpy if he goes to sleep past his bedtime (just like momma).
