Independence Township Parks, Recreation and Seniors hosts the annual Tons of Trucks Event on Saturday, Aug. 3, at Clintonwood Park, 6000 Clarkston Road, from 10 a.m. through 1 p.m.
Children of all ages are invited to admire, sit in, and climb on a wide variety of local trucks and vehicles, including a helicopter. The first 200 children to arrive at the park will receive a free, festive hat.
The event also will include music, Bob the Builder, crafts with the Arts and Scraps Mobile, and Project KidSight with the Clarkston Area Lions Club.
Tickets are $3/youth in advance, $5/youth on-site. Adults are free. Pre-register before Aug. 2 at the township office, 6483 Waldon Center Drive.
