Wolfpack Update for January 22, 2025

Clarkston Bowling
The Clarkston Girl Varsity Bowling team started out with a 10-0 lead after winning both Baker games against Oxford, Jan. 14, but ended up finishing with a 18-12 loss. Katie Stephens led the with a 226-224 set, solidifying her league high average lead in the OAA.
Both JV teams and the boys varsity team lost to the Wildcats. Gavin Pittman led the varsity team with a 222 game. Greyson Matteson bowled a 204 for the boys JV team.
The boys varsity team finished in third place during the Oakland County meet on Sunday. They made the cut as the 16th seed. They beat Oxford, No. 1 seed, in the first round. During the second round they defeated Waterford Mott, seeded at No. 8. They lost to No. 5 seed Troy Athens in the third round before beating West Bloomfield, No. 6 seed.
Troy Athens finished in first place and Lake Orion took second place.
The Wolves competed again Troy and North Farmington on Monday and Tuesday. They host Lake Orion on Thursday and compete in the Tri-County tournament at 5 Star Lanes on Saturday.

Clarkston Competitive Cheer
The Clarkston Varsity Competitive Cheer team finished in fourth place at the Hartland Heat Invite on Saturday.
The Wolves scored a total of 770.52 points to secure the spot out of 14 teams. They scored 229.7 in the first round; 226.32, second round; and 314.5, third round, for the highest scores for all three rounds this season.
The JV Competitive Cheer team finished in fifth place in the 2025 Adams Invite at Rochester Adams High School on Saturday. They scored a total of 615.9 points with 195.7 points in the first round; 159.3, second round; and 260.9, third round.
Both teams head to the Lake Orion Invitational this Saturday and head to Avondale High School, Feb. 1 for the OAA Red League Finals.

Clarkston Boys Skiing
The Clarkston Boys Varsity Ski team finished in third place in both their races last week.
The Wolves had two finish in the top ten in the Slalom race on Jan. 15. Anthony Ventimiglia finished in ninth place with a combined time of 44.16; Nathan Saker, tenth, 44.30; Jeremy Nord, 13th, 45.20; Logan Brown, 16th, 45.53; Ryan Bushroe, 17th, 46.27; and Wyatt Janczarek, 18th, 46.69.
The Wolves had wins over Rochester Adams, 10-41; and Bloomfield Hills, 16-22 in the Pine Knob High School League.
Ventimiglia led in the Giant Slalom race on Jan. 14, finishing in sixth place with a combined time 34.46; Nord, eighth, 34.90; Saker, 12th, 35.39; Janczarek, 17th, 36.28; Brown, 23rd, 36.90; Evan Duty, 24th, 36.95; and Evan Savioe, 27th, 37.61.
The Wolves had wins over Rochester Adams, 10-38; and Bloomfield Hills, 16-20.
The Clarkston Boys JV Ski team finished in first place in the Giant Slalom last Thursday with six finishing in the top ten.
Elliot Weich led the racers finishing in first place in a combined time of 40.43; Cole Hedstrom, second, 40.79; Zachary Marko, third, 41.00; Jackson Fry, fourth, 41.90; Spencer Brandon, fifth, 42.02; and Braeden Weich, seventh, 42.32.
William Place finished in 11th place in the time of 44.17; Jaime Rodriguez, 15th, 46.62; Mason Pagel, 21st, 49.42; and Liam Hamilton, 26th, 52.91.

Clarkston Girls Skiing
The Clarkston Girls Varsity Ski team took first place in both their races last week.
They finished first in the Slalom on Jan. 15 with four finishing in the top ten. Cameron Thomas led the racers finishing in first place in the combined time of 45.01; Jenna Brown, second, 46.70; Julia Verbeke, fifth, 47.83; Lucy Roeser, ninth, 48.72; Chloe Cook, 18th, 54.98; and Lucy Savoie, 19th, 55.36.
They went 3-0 in duals in the Pine Knob High School League with a win over Rochester Adams, 11-27; Troy/Avondale, 10-34; and Bloomfield Hills, 11-34.
They opened the week with the Giant Slalom on Jan. 14.
Verbeke and Brown tied for fifth place, both with a combined time of 35.71; Roeser, 12th, 37.20; Savoie, 21st, 40.39; Cook, 22nd, 40.48; Matilde Sartorio, 45th, 47.13; and Grace Campau, 52nd, 50.53.
They went 3-0 in the league during the Giant Slalom as well with wins over Rochester Adams, 14-23; Troy/Avondale, 14-25; and Bloomfield Hills, 15-22.

Clarkston Wrestling
The Clarkston Varsity Wrestling team marked Senior Night with two more wins in the OAA Red with victories over Stoney Creek, 53-21, and Rochester, 57-21, Jan. 15.
The Wolves started the night winning the first five matches with falls for a 30-0 lead.
Preston Lefevre was first with a fall over Samuel Mitchell with 1:41 remainng in the second period in the 138-pound weight class.
Next up was Aidan Newton (144) with a fall over Lek Gjolaj at 1:33; Nate Carter (150) with a fall over Quentin Bury at 1:18; Connor Newton (157) with a fall over Reid Bury at 1:52; and Joel Carter (165) with a fall over Gabriel Jarbo at 1:28.
The Wolves went on to have one more fall by Archer Anderson (132) over Jawad Bazzi with 23.8 seconds remaining in the second period; a technical fall by Joseph Hahn (106) over Nikko Luxton, 15-0; and voids for Oskar Benson (215) and Gavin Culloty (120).
The Wolves finished the night with a win over Rochester starting with victories in the first four matches.
Winning with falls were C. Newton (165) over Jake Welch, 3:17; Hahn over Austin Hillard, 1:15; Culloty over Cameron Julian, 59 seconds; Anderson over Nolan Johnson, 3:08; Lefevre over Lucca Vitale, 2:23; and Wyatt Auten (144) over Jacob Weaver, 1:30.
Winning with technical falls were N. Carter over Caden Webb, 17-2; Trey Setter (175) over Christiano Butrus, 15-0; Noah Vogt (113) over Jonathan Abrishaman, 16-0; and Benson (190) won with a void.
The Wolves competed in the Vikings Battle for Valhalla on Saturday.
Oskar Benson (190) and Andrew Wilson (120) finished in first place. Brenden Goldstein (132) and Max Olson (157) took third place as AJ Plouhar (175), Bryce Barnnett (113), Gavin Peruski (138) and Wyatt Auten (144) finished in fourth place.
Clarkston heads to Bloomfield Hills for a OAA Red Dual on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 5 p.m. They compete in the Saline Super Duals on Saturday; at Yale on Jan. 29 and at Lake Orion for the OAA Red Finals on Jan. 31.
