Clarkston Girls Soccer
The Clarkston Girls Varsity Soccer team finished the regular season with a 1-1 tie against Goodrich last Friday.
Goodrich scored with 28:32 remaining in the second half. Clarkston junior Molly Labate tied the score with 4:03 remaining in the game off a penalty kick, with the shot driving past the goalie into the back of the net.
The Wolves opened the week with a 2-1 loss to Grand Blanc.
Clarkston (5-7-5, 4-3-3 OAA White) plays Grand Blanc in the first round of the MHSAA Division 1 Girls Soccer 6. The Bobcats host the game on Friday at 6 p.m. The winner plays in the district semifinal game on Tuesday, May 27 at Oxford High School, 7 p.m.
Clarkston Boys Golf
The Clarkston Boys Varsity Golf team finished in eighth place at the Oakland County Division 1 Invitational with a 310 at Fieldstone Golf Club on May 14.
Senior Calum Hartner led the team, medaling with a 72. Sophomore Chris Quayle hit a 73; senior Vinny Giannini, 82; junior Anthony Dubeck, 83; and senior Brady Ebling, 89.
The Wolves had two teams compete on Monday, May 12. Quayle led the first team at the OAA Red League tournament at Fieldstone Golf Club with a 73 for third place. Dubeck hit a 78 for eighth place. Ebling hit a 82; Giannini and senior Braden Waechter, 84; and senior Finn Mooney, 89. The team finished in fourth place with 317.
The second team finished in 12th place in the Northstar Bank Tournament at Plum Hollow Country Club with a 323. Junior Brock Van Etten led with a 78; junior Ryan Wilford, 79; sophomore Connell Vogelei, 81; freshman Aidan Thierry, 85; and senior Frank Stanek, 96.
Clarkston Girls Lacrosse
The Wolves finished the season with a 17-8 loss to Grand Blanc in the first round of the MHSAA Division 1 Girls Lacrosse Pre-Regional 6 game last Friday.
Clarkston (7-7) finished the last week of the regular season with a 13-10 win over Notre Dame Prep on Senior Night, May 14. Junior Sydney Fischer scored 14 seconds into the game with an assist from junior Claire Naboychik. Notre Dame Prep went on a 4-point run to take the lead. The teams battled for the lead and in the last minute of the first half junior Kendall Kreft and senior Aubrey Reineck each scored one goal to take the lead, 8-6.
The Wolves opened the week with a 21-20 loss to Troy, May 12.
Clarkston Baseball
The Clarkston Varsity Baseball team split their double header against Walled Lake Northern on Saturday.
They lost the first game, 11-3; and came back to win the second game, 4-3.
The Wolves lost their 3-game series against Rochester. They lost the first game on May 12, 11-0; and on May 13, 4-1. They closed the gap on Friday as the Falcons hosted the game, losing by one run, 5-4.
The Wolves (14-15-1) host Rochester Adams on Wednesday, 4:30 p.m. They host a double header against Romeo on Friday beginning at 4 p.m. They play Grand Blanc in the first round of the MHSAA Division 1 District 31 playoffs on Tuesday, May 27, 4:30 p.m.
Clarkston Softball
The Clarkston Varsity Softball team opened last week with a trio of wins.
They defeated Fraser on Monday, May 12, 7-1. NaKenna Knowlton had ten strikeouts during the game.
They were back to the field with a double header against Rochester Adams. They won the first game, 11-1. Brooke Bond had five runs on two hits with a 3-run home run in the fourth inning.
They won the second game, 20-2. Knowlton had four runs on five hits with a 2-run home run in the third inning and scored a run in each the second and fifth innings.
The Wolves lost their double header against Lake Orion on Wednesday, 16-6 and 15-10. They lost to Beal City, 8-5; Woodhaven, 11-4; and Grand Haven, 11-0, on Saturday.
Clarkston (15-15) opened the week against Oxford on Tuesday. They head to Grosse Pointe North on Wednesday for a double header. They host Dakota on Thursday at 4 p.m. They head to Fraser on Tuesday, May 27 at 4:30 p.m.
