Wolves recognized

Accolades for the Clarkston Boys Varsity Basketball team are still rolling in after the winter season ended in February.
The Wolves received Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan Team Academic All-State Honorable Mention with a team grade point average 3.329.
Senior Kristoffer Hoffman received BCAM Team First Award and BCAM Outstanding Student Senior Athlete Award with a 4.0 GPA.
Senior Josh Luther also received BCAM Outstanding Student Senior Athlete Award with a 4.0 GPA and was named Clarkston Senior Male Athlete of the Year.
Senior Jake Jensen received Team Defense Award and Desmond Mills-Bradley received Team Coaches Award.
Junior Matt Nicholson received BCAM Individual Academic All-State with a 3.668 GPA; BCAM Best All-State Team; Associated Press All-State 2nd Team; Detroit News All-State 2nd Team; Detroit Free Press All-State Honorable Mention; All-League OAA Red and team Co-MVP.
Freshman Keegan Wasilk received Clarkston Optimist Club Outstanding Student Citizen Award; Detroit Free Press All-State Honorable Mention; Detroit News All-State Honorable Mention; All-League OAA Red and team Co-MVP.
Freshman Fletcher Loyer received BCAM Best All-State Team Honorable Mention; Associated Press All-State Honorable Mention; Detroit Free Press All-State Honorable Mention; Detroit News All-State 4th Team; All-League OAA Red and team Co-MVP.
The boys finished with an overall record of 17-3 and 12-0 in the OAA Red for a league championship.
Tim Wasilk in his first year as head coach was named Associated Press Division 1 Michigan Coach of the Year and All-USA Today Michigan Coach of the Year.
Wasilk noted the achievements are because of the players.
“Good players make good coaches,” he said.
