Man hits garage on W. Drahner, leaves scene

When Kristina Macey returned to her home on W. Drahner Friday morning, she was surprised to see her garage severely damaged.
‘I just couldn’t believe it,? she said.
According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s report, it was determined a vehicle lost control going east on W. Drahner about 200-250 feet before hitting the garage, running over two bushes and a ground light in the Macey’s front yard and barely missing a tree.
Sheriff’s Deputy John Dobrowiak said the vehicle, a 1999 pewter Chevy S-10 Blazer, drove over a garden embankment, went ‘airborne,? and crashed into the garage before leaving the scene.
Deputies were considering the accident a hit-and-run until a 56-year-old Oxford man turned himself in later that day.
The driver ‘lost control of (his) vehicle? and ‘waited a few minutes to see if anyone would come out from the house,? according to the sheriff’s report.
The man claimed he went home to call his wife at work so she could pick him up and bring him to the sheriff’s department.
It appears nether drugs nor alcohol were factors in the crash.
The man was issued citations for leaving the scene of an accident and careless driving.
