Oxford girl, 14, accuses Highland man of sexual assault

A 19-year-old Highland Township man is charged with two felony counts of first and third-degree criminal sexual conduct after a 14-year-old Oxford Township girl reported she was sexually assaulted by him.
Richard Brandon-David James, Jr. was recently arraigned before Magistrate Andre Richardson at the 52-1 District Court in Novi.
He posted his $250,000 bond with the stipulation that he wear a global positioning system tether.
A pre-exam is set for today before the Honorable Brian MacKenzie at the 52-1.
The Oxford teen was allegedly assaulted after she went to James? home with another 14-year-old girl and a 19-year-old man, according to an information sheet from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department.
She told deputies that James allegedly gave her several alcoholic drinks prior to the attack.
Although the victim wasn’t sure of the location of the home, she did remember seeing a sign that read ‘Highland.?
Detectives were able to identify the suspect and his home. He was arrested at approximately 8:30 p.m. Dec. 4.
James could face life in prison if convicted.
