The Oxford Competitive Cheer Team finished fourth place at their Jan. 13 invitational and are ready for the first of two league competitions tonight.
Lake Orion took first place overall, followed by Allen Park in second and Lapeer West in third.
Oxford had total scores of 169.5 in their first round, 172 in their second and 267 in the third round.
‘Overall, our weakest round is (the) second,? Coach Alanna Stockely said. ‘We need to start landing our skills and we should be alright.?
Tonight, the girls will compete at Lapeer East for their first Flint Metro League competition, but Stockely said the team’s biggest competition will be against Lapeer West.
‘We have a great chance of placing first if we come together as a team and have a solid day,? she said.
