A 29-year-old Pontiac man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at the Sunoco Gas Station on Joslyn Road that took place Friday night.
Lt. Bruce Naile said the man was apprehended by police in a stolen vehicle and admitted to the robbery, in addition to another heist two days earlier in Auburn Hills.
According to an Oakland County Sheriff’s Department report, the man entered the station wearing a brown jacket and a white scarf that covered his face.
He was carrying a handgun and demanded money in addition to the business phone and the personal cell phones of station employees.
The man fled on foot with approximately $650 in cash.
Police said this heist followed the same modus operandi that occurred at a BP Gas Station in Auburn Hills last Wednesday.
Deputies responded to the scene at 3850 Joslyn just before 11 p.m., and conducted a canine search with negative results.
On Monday morning, the suspect was apprehended in a stolen car, and another stolen vehicle was found on his property, though at press time Naile said the suspect had only admitted to the gas station robberies.
Naile said the second stolen vehicle is a truck belonging to Lake Orion Roofing on Brown Road.
The truck was not used in the robbery.
