The Brandon-Oxford lady skiers dominated the slopes this past week with a win against Saginaw Heritage; while their male counterparts struggled to place.
On Feb. 1, the ladies won against Heritage 26-46. Placing for Brandon-Oxford on the slalom were Karen Offer in first with 56.15, Grace Auchterlonie in third with 57.58 and Lauren Bayliss in fourth with 59.15. On the giant slalom, Offer again came in first with 52.21, Bayliss in second with 54.43 and Auchterlonie in third with 55.07.
The Brandon-Oxford men did not do as well losing to both Saginaw Heritage (58-20) and Grand Blanc (42-33). Heritage walked away with all of the top spots on both the slalom and giant slalom.
The men had a little more luck against Grand Blanc with Tim Smith taking second on the slalom at 52.23 and Ryan Hutchkiss taking third with 52.33. The two also placed on the giant slalom with Smith taking third at 52.89 and Hutchkiss taking fourth at 54.41. Dominating the match-up was Grand Blanc’s Mackenzie Foster, one of two female skiers on the team, who took first on the slalom and second on the GS.
The Brandon-Oxford skiers will be competing in divisional competition on Feb. 5 and regional competition on Feb. 12.
