GHS seniors end school year with unique rides to class

Goodrich- In the early morning hours of May 29 a menagerie of graduating seniors riding an odd spectrum of transportation modes ranging from golf-carts to lawmowers to a converted shopping cart arrived at the high school.
The strange parade, a tradition for more than 25 years, marked the end of a school year for students and an expression of some rather creative minds that crafted the rides.
Acting principal Mike Ellis was sure to notify students that police would be watching for safety including helmets for every motorized vehicle while the students were driving on main roads in addition to obeying speed limits.
‘It was something we talked about doing in the third grade,? said senior Kyler Elsworth, who along with senior Tom Ferreri designed the ‘shopping cart mobile.?
The Martians finished off their last day of high school with a senior breakfast served by the teachers, a constant ringing of the senior bell, and their grand exit on everything from tractors to shopping carts.
