Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies are looking for an armed robbery suspect described as a white male, youthful looking, approximately 5’ 8” to 5’ 10” tall, between 140 and 170 pounds, with blue or green eyes, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and white latex gloves.
The robber, who had a scarf covering his face, entered the BP gas station in the 6400 block of Sashabaw Road and demanded cash, 2:59 a.m., May 23. When the employee refused to give up the money, the suspect pulled a small semi-automatic handgun and again demanded it. The employee handed over all of the cash, in $1 and $5 bills. The suspect left the store on foot. The employee did not see where the suspect went after he left the store or if a vehicle was involved.
Deputies searched the area for the suspect, calling in an OCSO K-9 unit. The police dog established a track but lost it just south of the gas station. The store is equipped with a surveillance system, but the employee was not able to access the footage. Detectives were notified of the incident and will be continuing with the investigation.
