On October 24 at approximately 1:50 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 6500 block of Dixie Highway on an alarm call.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a broken window.
A representative from the business responded to the business and informed officers that numerous new pieces of landscaping equipment had been taken.
Officers were able to review the surveillance video and a suspect vehicle was identified.
After broadcasting the vehicle info out to other officers in the area, a vehicle matching the description, with landscaping equipment in the bed, was spotted by an officer on routine patrol.
The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but it fled. Officers gave pursuit, and the suspected vehicle pulled into a parking lot and the driver fled on foot but was apprehended a short time later. The landscaping equipment in the bed of the fleeing vehicle was identified as the equipment that was taken from Weingartz.
On Nov. 9, Adam Twork, a 25-year-old Independence Township resident, was bound over for trial, by 52-2 District Court to the 6th Circuit.
