Officers were dispatched to the 8000 block of Springfield Township’s Kier Road on the evening of March 12 for a report of a suicidal subject. 
The caller said a 67-year-old Springfield Township man was having a mental health crisis and took off on foot. A K-9 unit arrived on scene and began to track, going eastbound down Kier Road. The man was subsequently located in a brush covered area, and officers were able to walk him back to the residence.
The man was transported to St. Joe’s Hospital in Pontiac for a mental health evaluation.
