Nicholas Daril O’Dea Sr., of Clarkston, passed away June 19, 2021 at the age of 84 after a three-year battle with blood cancer.
He was born in Drayton Plains to the late Joseph D. and Marguerite E. (Dean) O’Dea.
He is survived by his beloved wife Patricia (Bullard) O’Dea of 60 years of marriage, his children Kathy (Gary Sr.) Ott, Nick Jr. (Tara) O’Dea, and Melissa (Brad) Weining, his cherished grandchildren Heidi (Jeff) Runels, Gary Jr. (Enidza) Ott, Sean O’Dea, Nathan Weining, and Lucas Weining, great-grandchildren Gary III, Sofia, Oliver, Elliott, Logan, and Agnes. He is also survived by his only sister Patricia Whalen of Pennsylvania, many sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, including Bette Ann (Ed) Eaglen, and many nieces and nephews.
Nick was a car guy.
A graduate of Waterford High School in 1955 and Ferris State University in 1959, Nick was a member of the National Guard, a member of St. Daniel Catholic Church, also a GMC Corvette Set member, Woodward Dream Cruise annual participant, 1965 Stingray Bloomington Gold winner, 300-game bowler, Detroit Tigers fan, and retiree from General Motors after 38 years.
He was a loving husband, wonderful father, and a good friend.
In keeping with his wishes, Nicholas was cremated and there is no public memorial service at this time.
