An 82-year-old Davisburg man died Wednesday night, October 20, after a crash with another vehicle, ejecting him from the vintage 1946 Jeep Willys he was driving.
The accident happened about 7:55 p.m. on Holly Road at Tindall Road in Springfield Township.
Ronald Lee Rader stopped his Jeep at the traffic sign on southbound Tindall Road and then turned into the path of a 2014 Ford Taurus that was headed east on Holly Road. After being struck by the Ford, the Jeep went off the roadway into a ditch and overturned, ejecting Rader, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Due to the age of the Jeep, seatbelts were not available.
The driver of the Ford, a 53-year-old Davisburg man, was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash and it remains under investigation, according to deputies from the Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit.
