Just after midnight on Tuesday, November 9, Oakland County sheriff’s deputies responded to a trouble call at a residence in the 5400 block of Mary Sue Avenue.
Deputies were met by the two victims, a 21-year-old Independence Township woman, and a 24-year-old Pontiac man.
The female victim and her boyfriend were sitting in the car in her driveway after a date. Her ex-boyfriend, a 26-year-old Pontiac man, arrived at the house and attempted to block them in with his car.
The victims were able to maneuver around the suspect’s car and drive away. The suspect followed the victims and rammed their vehicle twice, causing them to run off the road and into the yard of a nearby residence.
The suspect approached the victim’s vehicle, pulled the boyfriend out of the driver’s seat, and began punching him.
When the victim fought back, the suspect pulled out a pistol and pointed it at him. The victim knocked the gun out of the suspect’s hand at which point the suspect fled the scene on foot after retrieving his pistol.
A K9 unit responded and began a track but was unsuccessful.
The boyfriend sustained minor injuries to his hand and face but refused medical attention.
The female was not injured.
