The Pine Knob Elementary Alpha Club completed another successful year.
Students involved in the group were active in team work, completing homework assignments and helping eachother whenever neccessary.
One memorable project included making table centerpieces for the adult Alpha Club Annual Fund-raiser. The students have participated in lectures with guest speakers from organizations including: Over Land & Under Water Expeditions; Detroit Zoological Institute; and North Oakland Headquarters Land Conservatory.
PKE students walked away from these presentations with knowledge on watersheds, the importance on our land and steps to protect the land.
Each student who participated in the Pine Knob Elementary Alpha Club is encouraged to live by the Optimist Creed: ‘Remember to look at the sunny side of everything and strive to make your optimism come true. Make others feel good about themselves and carry a smile with you at all times.?
A message from Alpha Club Leaders: ‘We wish all the club members good luck in the sixth grade next year, and please consider continuing what you have begun by joining the Jr. Optimist Club.?
