An estimated 900 families convened on Friendship Park Saturday for the township’s annual Barn Daze festivities.
The event, which originated earlier this decade to commemorate the moving of the Porritt Barn, was a huge success, according to Parks & Recreation Program Supervisor Jennifer Vezina.
New features, like a trebuchet demonstration (see Page 4 for more) joined perennial favorites like the petting farm and Civil War encampment/reenactment.
Barn Daze was moved to September a couple of years ago in search of warmer weather, and it got just that this year.
‘I will definitely be requesting the same weather next year,? Vezina joked, adding that Barn Daze will likely remain in September for years to come.
The event also featured the Chamber’s Chili Challenge (see Page 7 for more).
