Daniel Orval Steward; of Clarkston; passed away on June 11, 2024, at the age of 75. Loving husband of Tracy Steward; father of Matthew (Brittany) Steward and David Steward; brother of Walter Steward; son-in-law of Sam and Dee Cosma; Uncle of Tammy, Kim, and the Late Debbie; preceded in death by his parents Orval and Dorothy Steward. Dan started his career working as a programmer for Community National Bank in Pontiac and then J&L Steel in Warren.
In 1977, he took a job with General Motors where he worked for eight years in Data Processing. Over the next 23 years, he continued his career in Information Technology working for EDS in various management and sales roles until he retired in 2007. After retirement, Dan changed careers and took on a property management role as Vice President of Kosma Enterprises where he continued to work until the end.
Although Dan never stopped working, he always found time to have fun. His favorite hobby was golf, and he spent as much time on the golf course as time would allow. He loved to spend his summer evenings sitting on the deck listening to Tiger baseball while drinking a Manhattan—his favorite drink.
Dan was no stranger to winter sports either. He spent many years going on snowmobile trips in northern Michigan with several of his lifelong friends. Dan was always up for a trip or adventure with friends, but his greatest gift was his ability to have fun and make people laugh.
He had a wonderful sense of humor and could put a smile on everyone’s face. But above all else, Dan loved nothing more than his family. His wife and kids were his world.
