A year after being smashed by an out-of-control truck, the front portion of the Clarkston Village Dental building will begin to be demolished this week.
This work requires a large dumpster on Main Street and, at times, closure of the sidewalk.
“We will work closely with the demolition contractor to minimize the disruption and place safety cones/tape on the site,” said City Manager Jonathan Smith.
A double-tandem gravel hauler struck two vehicles and smashed through a brick wall before plowing into the downtown building at 55 S. Main Street on April 20 last year.
The business is working to rebuild, with a site plan for a 1,432-square-foot second floor addition approved by City Council last Nov. 12.
