Destination Imagination teams head to finals

Clarkston’s Destination Imagination teams will compete in the State Finals at Central Michigan University on April 8.
They achieved record-breaking results March 11 during the Regional Tournament at Waterford Mott High School. All six of Clarkston’s 3-12 grade teams qualified for the DI State Finals Tournament, a first for the program. CCS was also proud to introduce a new Rising Stars team of K-2 graders at the Regional event.
During the competition, students researched Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM) and Fine Arts topics, creating unique solution within a specified budget and without direct input from adults.
This year students from Clarkston High, Junior High, Sashabaw Middle, and Bailey Lake, Springfield Plains, North Sashabaw, and Pine Knob elementary schools participated in the program, solving problems that involved constructing a movable stage, creating encryption methods, helping their community, improvisational acting, and creating an invention.
