Fair and car show coming to town

Labor Day fun-seekers have another annual event to add to the calendar, the Clarkston First Congregational Church Country Fair and Classic Car Show will be held on Sept. 4 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The show will feature DJ Mark Farnsworth,who is a regular at the fair.
Pastor Martin Hall said, ‘Every year, we ask him at the end, ‘So are we on for next year???
The event will also include midway games, live and silent auctions, 50/50 raffle, a dime auction as well as rummage and bake sales. Children will receive keys at the Clarkston Labor Day Parade that can be used at the fair to open a treasure chest and receive a prize.
In addition to all the festivities, a car show, which saw more than 100 cars of all types, will return.
Hall said more than 100 volunteers are involved in the entire fair from setup through to the end. More than 1,000 people attended last year, and that many are expected again.
‘It brings our church together with the community and (it brings) church members together,? said Hall.
Admission is free for the event, and the church only asks for a donation for parking.
