Goodrich – Building an award-winning robot that’s been heralded around the country isn’t something the Goodrich robotics team wanted kept secret.
That’s why members and parents of the Goodrich For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) robotics team spent their Christmas vacation building an elaborate oak display case.
The case, which can hold up to three robots, is located near the Goodrich High School gymnasium, built through a private donation.
Students and visitors to the school will find trophies, photos, magazine articles, and robots in the case.
With last year’s national win, the robotics team has nearly doubled in size.
Fourteen new students have joined the team, a total of 27 team members.
It’s a smart move, says faculty sponsor Clint Densham.
‘There’s $5 million in scholarships only for FIRST students,? he said.
