Juvenile Complaints rise with onset of Spring

Spring is barely upon us, the Easter break is hardly over, and already the complaints are rolling in. Here is a listing of the ‘Juvenile Complaints? filed this past week:

On Tuesday
911 received a call about a 3-year-old locked in a bathroom from a mother on Queens.
Assault with hands/fist/feet reported by a Crossroads for Youth employee.
On Wednesday
Male resident in the Crawford St. apartments filed a juvenile complaint about six kids running in the halls being loud.
Juvenile complaint on W. Burdick St. concerning youths climbing on the dumpsters.
A visitor in Ridgelawn Cemetery contacted police after overhearing a group of kids swearing.
On Friday
Suspicious circumstance on Pontiac St. turned out to be two youths walking back and forth between Pontiac and Dennison streets.
Female resident on W. Burdick St. reported ‘there have been kids damaging her car while it is parked in the driveway.?
A juvenile complaint was filed concerning youths rollerblading in the lot behind the First Baptist Church.
Resident on Thornehill Trail filed a juvenile complaint about several youths on bikes hanging out in front of her home. The kids told police they were waiting for a ride.
On Saturday
Drivers on Oxford Lakes Rd. reported youths engaging in malicious mischief by throwing eggs at cars.

Editorial note: Let’s remember – kids will be kids. As the summer holiday quickly approaches, let’s all join together to make sure there are plenty of opportunities for youths of all ages to burn off some extra energy: whether at a skatepark, a splash pad, or just a neighborhood sidewalk for hanging out and decorating with sidewalk chalk. – JM
