Lois G. Roosa, age 89 of Bear Lake and formerly of Clarkston, died Sunday Sept. 8 after recently moving into the warm and compassionate Maple Ridge Manor in Manistee with tremendous support by the entire Maple Ridge team.
She was born April 5, 1935 in Pontiac, the daughter of the late Alfred and Ruth (Thorpe) Kuenzer. She attended Waterford Schools and was a graduate of Waterford Township High School.
On July 23, 1955, she married Stan Roosa in Pontiac. Prior to becoming a mother of two boys, she was a secretary at GM – Pontiac Motor Division. In 1969, she became the church secretary for Clarkston United Methodist Church serving under ministers Rev. Frank Cozadd, Rev. Paul Cargo, Rev. James Balfour and Rev. Doug Trebilcock before retiring to Bear Lake in 1994. Her hobbies included quilting, ceramics, playing cards and watching Bear Lake sunsets.
She is survived by sons Douglas (Nancy) Roosa of Ann Arbor and David Roosa of Sheboygan, WI; 3 grandchildren Natalie Roosa of Royal Oak, Paul Roosa of Novi and Logan Stone of Oconomowoc, WI.
She was preceded in death by brother Philip Kuenzer and sisters Joyce Graham and Esther (Dee) Blain.
A celebration of life service is being planned for later this fall.
