Police arrested a man during a concert at DTE Energy Music Theater after he allegedly struck a police officer following a dispute with venue security.
The 57-year-old Highland Township man was arrested for disorderly persons, assault and battery of a police officer, and resisting and obstructing arrest around 9:30 p.m.
Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene when the man refused to leave the venue after becoming hostile towards security who confronted him about sitting in the wrong seat at the June 23 concert.
When deputies arrived, they asked the man to leave again when he allegedly started swinging his arms and fists in an aggressive manner, state police reports.
Following several verbal commands from a deputy, the man continued to swing his arms, eventually striking a deputy in the face.
According to reports, the man was tasered twice in the torso and upper legs as he continued to resist arrest.
No injuries were reported and no medical treatment was needed.
