Several people arrested in early morning Groveland bar fight

Groveland Township-When Michigan State Police Troopers received a call on July 27, at approximately 2:50 a.m., informing them of a bar fight, they had not anticipated the scene would be such a mess.
After a bartender at the establishment called in the complaint, Trooper John Duffy and Trooper Stephen Anderson arrived at Dirty’s Pub and Grill on Dixie Highway to a parking lot filled with nearly 40 people fighting.
Troopers immediately called for backup, which they received from the Holly Police Department, Groveland Fire Department and the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department.
Troopers arrested numerous people from the fight, including a Fenton man who was seen kicking a man from Waterford in the head. Trooper Anderson noticed the man was unconscious from the abuse, and he was rushed to Genesys Hospital by the Groveland Fire Department.
Trooper Duffy, in the midst of breaking up other fights and arguments, placed handcuffs on an aggressor who was fighting with numerous people. He placed the man against the patrol car, and attempted to rectify other situations. The man took the opportunity to flee, but Trooper Duffy caught up to him. The man was placed inside the patrol car, however Trooper Duffy noticed minutes later the man had once again decided to flee.
Trooper Duffy called for canine backup from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department. The dog found the man hiding in weeds in a nearby field, and he was taken to Oakland County Jail. In all, approximately under five arrests were made, and many participants sustained minor injuries.
