Lake Orion is alive with the sound of music this summer, featuring live, free musical performances in Orion Township and in the village.
Concerts in the Park is underway in the township. Every Tuesday from 7:30 until 9 p.m., head to Civic Center Park for free live music.
Community Programs Director Lisa Sokol said this year’s concert series schedule is wonderfully diverse.
‘What’s really exciting,? she said, ‘is the wide variety in styles of music and the wide variety of age groups the concerts appeal to.?
For the first time, North Oakland Transportation Association will transport area seniors to select concerts, Sokol said.
July 7 will bring Rich Eddy’s Rocking Oldies. The Fun Guys will be there July 14. And on July 21, Ernie May and His Banjo Friends will rock the park.
Next year Sokol said the township hopes to hold its concerts in the newly built amphitheatre.
