The Dragon boys? track team were a step behind Rochester Adams on Tuesday, April 28.
They lost 69-59.
‘As expected, Adams proved to be a tough opponent for the Dragons,? Coach Stan Ford said.
The Dragons won only winning six events.
‘However, Adams did have their weaknesses that we were able to exploit with our depth, and that kept the meet close,? Ford added.
In the field events, senior captain Corey Blomquist won the discus, senior Scott LaValley won the high jump, (and the 110m Hurdles).
Senior Robby Lentz won the long jump, with sophomore Taylor Jongekrijg taking second place in both.
Seniors Jeff Heath, (second in the 200m Dash) and Robby Lentz, teamed up with juniors Anthony Papagni and Michael Dunlap to win the 800m Relay. Senior Captain Ryan Ziolko won the 3200m Run.
On May 2, the Dragons took second place at the Ashley Relays with 92 points.
‘It was a good day for us to show off our depth,? Ford said.
According to Ford, some of the highlights included the 4 x 1600m relay.
The Dragons took first place with a fine time of 18:09.00, (Ryan Ziolko, Nathan Ziolko, Jeremiah Hargett and Sean Bone).
Hargett and Bone then teamed up with Dominic Arnold and Brad Norman to win the mid-distance relay.
Individually, Taylor Jongekrijg won the long jump, (20?8?), and then took second in the high jump with a 6?2? effort.
Senior Devin Cudnohufsky took second in the Discus event with a personal best of 134?0?.
