The fire that tore through an unoccupied Bridge Road house last week left nothing but ashes.
‘The house was totally destroyed,? said Fire Chief Jeff Key. ‘It’s now basically a hole in the ground with a bunch of debris.?
There were no reported injuries.
At 11:23 p.m. on Nov. 18, the Orion Township Fire Department responded to the residential structure fire on Bridge Road, on one of the slim peninsulas in Lake Orion. As usual with a structure fire, all stations responded.
‘When we arrived, the flames were already through the roof,? he said.
The house was undergoing renovations at the time, and no one was inside when the fire broke out.
According to Key, the house has been representative of the vacation types in the area. The conflagration didn’t affect neighboring structures, though there was damage to a pontoon boat.
The cause of the fire is still under review.
‘I really don’t have anything specific. We’re still waiting on the results of the investigation,? Key said, adding that it usually takes about a week.
