The annual SCAMP Walk & Roll fund-raiser in Depot Park shook up Clarkston this past Sunday.
Volunteers, walkers and SCAMPers turned in pledge sheets for a chance to travel along 1-mile, 2-mile and 8-mile routes with all proceeds benefiting SCAMP.
‘It was a wonderful day,? said SCAMP Director Donna Clancy. ‘There were so many people, we ran out of t-shirts, and kids had to raise $50 and adults $100 to get one.?
Clancy estimated over 800 people walked and rolled for the event.
At the time of publication, SCAMP organizers had not counted all donations.
Congratulations to the winners of the SCAMP contests: youngest walker for the day was 1-year-old Sidney Scheib; oldest walker was Theresa Chivers, 92; best bike went to Amy Divito; largest group of walkers was Miss Leddy’s class from Springfield Plains Elementary; and largest employee group was Dr. Rumph.
Thanks to everyone who participated in the exciting day!
