Oxford High School junior Kenny White ran one of his best races ever – and managed to meet every one of his personal goals. White came in 71st with a time of 16:43.9 at the Cross Country State Competition held at the Michigan International Speedway.
The placing is a vast improvement over his 150th place finish last season, and his record time earned him a spot on Oxford High School’s record board. White is now listed as the 12th fastest runner in the school’s history.
“He ran the best time of his life on the last day of the season,” said Coach Ray Sutherland, “and that’s definitely the way to do it. He reached all of his goals and we’re all very proud of him.”
