Clarkston Cheer teams opened the competitive season last Friday at the CCAM Scholarship Invitational at Troy High School.
A total of 20 teams ranging from middle school, junior varsity and varsity levels attended the meet.
Clarkston JV Competitive Cheer finished in fourth place in their division. It is the first of nine competitions for the JV team.
The varsity team finished in fifth place in their division.
Both teams head to the Yellow Jacket Invite at Avondale High School this Saturday, 9:30 a.m.

Clarkston Varsity Wrestling claimed the Herm Wilkinson Classic championship by 2.5 points at Howell on Saturday.
Auggie Anderson, Preston LeFevre and Brady Vogt finished as champions in their weight classes. Tony Cach and Cayden Strong finished in third place. Nate Carter, Ethan LeFevre, Cam Neumann and Brock Trevino finished in fifth place. Matteo Marino finished in seventh place and Ethan Zak finished in eighth place.
For the girls, Lillian Francy finished in second place in her weight class.
The JV team finished with ten champions – John Bechinski, Max Brown, Nico Cortes, Matthew Jaffke, Tyler Le, Marco Marino, Micah Minot, Chase Olson, Trey Setter and Tyson Scott.
Jayce Lafferty, Charlie Mathews and Etienne Mohr finished in second place. Brady Morrow finished in third place. Carter Burgess and Liam Sutherland finished in fourth place.

The varsity team competes in the Oakland County Championships this Friday at home and this Saturday at Oxford High School.
