The student council at North Sashabaw Elementary School presented its third annual talent show on April 7 to an excited audience.
The council, comprised of third, fourth and fifth grade students, helped organize the show that was open to all students.
The show featured a variety of different acts, from solo song performances to gymnastics and group skits.
Frank Linesman was one of the student performers who had a unique approach to his performance. He contacted various members of the military and police force to join him on stage for a version of ‘God Bless the USA? that brought tears to many in the audience.
‘It gets better every year,? Wendy Roehl said.
The show was just one of the many activities the council had been working on over the past year.
With their efforts so far this year, the group has raised $1,080 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation, $629 for the Spraypark, $640 for Dick Purtan’s Bed and Bread Club and even collected 175 blankets for the Red Cross to hand out.
‘This is a way of getting these kids to help others in need,? Roehl said.
The council is working on more activities to finish out the school year.
