Richard C. “Dick” Ayers; born November 17, 1943 in Gadsen, Alabama to Carnie and Cecile Ayers; of Clarkston formerly of Pontiac; passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by family and friends on September 28, 2024; age 80; husband of Kym Ogans-Ayers; father of Rick (Karen Kimbro) Ayers; stepfather of Kassandra (Charles) Philpot Jr., Charlie (Samantha Walter) Ogans and Karrissa (Jeff) Olson; grandpa/papa of Dylan, Devyn, Aria, Brady and Charlie; brother of Carolyn (Bob) Sexton and children: Ireland (Walter Lopez) Sexton and the late Noah Sexton; brother of Charlie (Faye) Ayers and children: Chris (Rhiannon) Green and Jimmy Green; great uncle of two; son in law of Gail (the late Ken) Winship.
Dick founded Mr. G’s Haircare and Hair Replacement, Clarkston.
He enjoyed playing drums, riding horses, fishing, hunting and flower gardening. He was an active member of the Clarkston Rotary for many years.
Friends visited Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston on Wednesday, Oct. 2 from 4 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service was Thursday, Oct. 3 at 12:30 p.m. at Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston. Graveside Service Lakeview Cemetery, Clarkston.
