Mark and Linda Hyman have worked hard to make Clarkston a better place to live.
The couple moved to Clarkston in 2000, and at first, were not sure what to expect.
‘We found this property in Clarkston; however, we were unsure if we wanted to move out this way,? said Mark. ‘We took a ride through the village and absolutely fell in love.?
Moving from Berkley to Clarkston seemed like a big adjustment; but Mark and Linda packed up their belongings and their children ? seven-year-old twins, Justin and Halle, and three – year – old Julian. Now, Linda and Mark are expecting their fourth.
‘We are so thrilled to be having another baby,? said Linda. ‘This baby will certainly complete our family.?
Once the Hyman family arrived in Clarkston in August of 2000, they took a good look at their new home and immediately saw the potential.
‘I thought we could do so much more with this house so I came up with some ideas,? said Linda.
Originally, this modest ranch home was 1,400 – square – feet. The couple had a vision: to turn this ranch style home into a magnificent sprawling 4,300 square – foot home.
With the help of reliable contractors, Linda and Mark were able to make their vision come to life.
The home’s atmosphere is serene and inventive. The style throughout is custom – designed and original. Linda and Mark managed to literally create their vision of a beautiful home perfectly.
The result: Linda and Mark’s first successful project, which has been recognized by the Oakland Business Review and earned front cover of Preferred Homes.
This may seem like enough, but for Mark and Linda this was only the beginning.
Mark and Linda not only reside in the area, but they are highly involved in the community. Mark recently opened a Home Loan Center for Flagstar Bank in Clarkston. Mark is branch manager along with two other partners, Kathy McIntyre and Michelle Tabor. The business has been open for almost a year and the success already exceeds their expectations.
Mark is well known throughout the community and especially throughout the mortgage industry. His commitment to excellence and his years of experience have earned him an outstanding reputation in his field.
The Hyman children attend Everest Academy, and Linda remains active within the school. Donating time can become an obstacle; however, Linda does whatever she can to participate. Whether helping out in school activities, or working the lunch line, Linda stands ready.
‘We just love Everest Academy,? said Linda and Mark. ‘Even if we moved from the area, our children will still attend the school.?
Once Mark had his business up and running, he and Linda decided to begin building again.
The two searched the area for the perfect piece of property to begin their next venture. That property: 2 1/2 – acres on breathtaking soil in Independence Township; the venture: building their first home from the ground up.
The project began nine months ago. Today, the home is immaculate and the two are pleased with their efforts and are anxious to view the final result. Because Linda and Mark built the home for the sole purpose of selling, their phone is ringing constantly with interested parties.
With running a business, building homes and raising a family, Linda and Mark unquestionably have their hands full. When the family can find some down time, they jump at the opportunity.
The Hyman’s enjoy vacationing all over the world, and invite family members to share the sites. They relish going for a night on the town, or simply spending a quiet evening at home. The couple is very easy to please. The family devotedly attends St. Daniels Catholic Church and, to stay fit, regularly plays tennis at Deer Lake Athletic Club.
The Hyman’s came to Clarkston as newcomers, strangers amongst neighbors. Today, five years later, they have grown with the community and have built many lasting relationships.
Linda and Mark look forward to many wonderful moments in their future: their completed spec home, their next project and their new baby.
‘We are happier than ever,? said the couple. ‘And a lot of that began with Clarkston.?
