The Martians started out their Genesee Area Conference on the right foot, defeating LakeVille 102-35 in an April 14 meet.
Andrea Howell was one of the Martians? key performers, winning three field events: the shot put (30?3?), discus (92?3?), and pole vault (7?6?).
Two other Goodrich competitors, Michelle Elliott and Mary Haiderer, won two events each. Elliott won the high jump (5?) and the 100 meter hurdles (14.9), while Haiderer won the 800 meter run (2:36.42) and the 3200 meter run (13:51.46).
Other Goodrich individual first-place finishers were Casey Tubbs in the 100 meter run (13.32), Kelsey Meyers in the 1600 meter run (5:39.67), and Christina Sweet in the 400 meter run (1:03.62).
Goodrich also took first place in the 400, 800, and 3200 meter relay events.
