Congratulations to Lake Orion residents Tyler Anderson and Ian Peterson and Clarkston resident Evan Young for being first place winners in the Oxford Hills Junior Golf League this summer.
Sixty players ages 10 to 15 competed during the eight-week season. The players were divided into three flights (each containing 20 players) based on age and experience level.
Peterson was at the top of the First Flight. Young, 13, led the Second Flight, while 13-year-old Anderson topped the Third Flight.
Anderson said he’s been playing golf for 12 years and said the game takes ‘a ton? of concentration. His favorite golfer is Arnold Palmer.
Young’s been golfing for four years and said Tiger Woods is his favorite.
His advice for kids wanting to get into golf?
‘Don’t get angry if you have a bad shot,? Young said.
