Lake Orion scored 103.5 points to finish tenth in the Oakland County Championships, won by Farmington Hills Mercy, on Oct. 7 at the LOHS Natatorium.
Katrin Vetter played a hand in 74.5 of the Dragon points, finishing in a tie for second in the 50-yard freestyle (25.05) and seventh in the 100-yard freestyle (55.04)
The senior anchored the 200-yard freestyle relay team of sophomore Liz Eesley, freshmen Nicole Kudla and junior Emily Loerch that picked up 24 points for a seventh place finish (1:44.22).
Loerch, freshmen Sarah Steil and Christine Forrest, and Vetter teamed up for an eighth place finish (22 points) in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:48.54).
All of the above times, were DI state qualifying times.
Junior diver Jenna Dorey recorded a fourth place finish for the Dragons, contributing 15 points to the team.
Sophomore Sara Simic, senior Lauren Barber, Kudla and Eesley took eleventh in the 200-yard medley relay (1:57.86), which opened the meet.
Simic rounded out the Dragon scoring with a 14th place finish (1:04.55) in the 100-yard backstroke event.
Earlier last week Kudla and Vetter each won a pair of individual events as Lake Orion cruised to a 113-73 win over visiting Andover on Oct. 3.
Kudla was victorious in the 200-yard individual medley (2:23.82) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:05.37), while Vetter took top honors in the 50-yard freestyle (25.17) and 100-yard freestyle (54.87).
Simic won the 100-yard backstroke (1:05.05) and Dorey claimed the diving event (199.20) for the Dragons as well.
Lake Orion also took the top spot in all three relay events in the win.
