After completing a perfect 9-0 regular season, Lake Orion has earned the right to play at Dragon Stadium until the state semifinals.
The Dragons will open with 6-3 Waterford Mott, and could get a rematch versus Clarkston in the second round if the Wolves get past visiting Romeo this week.
If seedings hold out, Lake Orion, the highest ranked team in all of Division I would play 8-1 Macomb Dakota in the Regional Final.
Dakota beat the Dragons 27-13 in last year’s Regional Final.
Lake Orion could also tie and set a new team record for victories in a season in these playoffs.
The team has won 10 games in a season on three previous occasions, most recently in 1998.
Kickoff against Mott is set for 7 p.m. on Friday at Dragon Stadium.
