Cagers climb above .500, Clarkston on deck

The Dragons rebounded from a season-opening loss to Romeo, winning their road opener at Davison 63-54 on Dec. 8.
The team returned home on Tuesday and topped Lakeland 50-40.
Ross Tonyan, who was shut out in the Romeo game and left with an ankle injury, returned to form against Davison by scoring a game-high 17 points, including 14 after halftime.
Chris Lum added 12 points and seven rebounds for Lake Orion and Drew Maynard recorded a double-double, with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The team’s 23-of-43 shooting clip (53 percent) was much improved from the Romeo contest, a 70-48 loss.
Anthony Fields, Mike Tuzik and Steve Jorgensen combined for 20 points off of the Dragon bench, and Lake Orion had a 27-18 rebounding advantatge on the night.
Lum led the way against Lakeland, again scoring 12 points, while Maynard chipped in with 11.
The Dragons held a decisive advantage at the free throw line, making 20 of 29 attempts while limiting Lakeland to just 12 attempts all game (they made nine).
Lake Orion (2-1) hosts Clarkston in an OAA crossover contest on Friday night.
