Days after the county meet in Lake Orion, the Dragons took a 101-85 win at Clarkston on Feb. 9. Greg Dedow (1:54.63) and Jacob Rush (1:58.69) finished first and second in the 200-yard freestyle.
Adam Curry (24.60) and Woyciech Gryc (25.27) finished in the top two spots in the 50-yard freestyle. Dedow (5:04.33) won the 500-yard freestyle, finishing more than 24 seconds before the next finisher.
Rush (58.77) won the 100-yard backstroke.
‘We swam very well, that’s all I can ask,? Chock said.
At the Oakland County Swimming and Diving Championships at Lake Orion on Feb. 3, Jacob Rush was the highest Clarkston placer, finishing in 58.82 in the 100-yard backstroke, taking 12th place.
‘He’s pretty excited about that, it was a surprise,? Chock said.
Bobby Nelson took 14th (2:09.69) in the 200-yard individual medley and Phil Voorheis dropped three seconds off his qualifying time in the event, finishing at 2:11.46.
Voorheis broke the one-minute barrier in the 100-yard butterfly (59.58) taking 24th place.
‘It took the county meet for him to break it. It’s a mental barrier sometimes,? Chock said.
Dedow took 17th place (5:06.12) in the 500-yard freestyle.
