Skiers fourth at state meet

After a slow start Monday in the the state finals at Marquette Mountain, Clarkston’s girls? ski team rebounded to finish in fourth place in the meet.
Clarkston (115) finished behind Traverse City West (46), Marquette (74) and Traverse City Central (88).
‘They had a tough morning in slalom,? Wolves Coach Mike Foyteck said.
‘We knew there was too much ground to make up.?
The girls finished fourth in slalom with 75 points, behind West (24), Marquette (32) and Central (38).
Hannah Wolf (1:06.20) earned an individual state championship finishing in first place in the giant slalom. Wolf was fourth in the slalom earlier in the day at 1:25.45.
Trisha Peters, typically the runner up to Wolf, finished seventh in the giant slalom at 1:07.71. Peters was 15th in the slalom, finishing at 1:33.48.
The girls were runners-up in 2006, when Wolf finished third in slalom and second in the GS. Peters made a significant jump from 32nd in the GS in 2006.
Representing the boys? team, Eric Weiland took fourth in the slalom for the second consecutive season with a time of 1:22.02.
