The Lake Orion Education Foundation awarded 22 mini-grants at last week’s school board meeting.
These various grants went towards funding programs and supplies that will benefit students at the elementary, middle and high schools.
‘We’re very proud and happy that we have the opportunity to provide these funds,? said Lake Orion Education Foundation President Steven Appledorn.
The Foundation awards mini-grants two times a year (fall and spring), and for the third consecutive time, the mini-grants have been in the excess of $10,000.
According to Appledorn, the Education Foundation has awarded over $40,000 of mini-grants in the last two school years to the Lake Orion school district.
