CreekFest 2007 Poetry Contest

No one can say that Ortonville’s Creek Fest 2007 was void of culture. The second annual Creek Fest Poetry Contest brought out the area’s poets and their most prized compositions.
Competing in two catagories based on age, the participants were placed from first to third place, with two honorable mention awards.
The first place winner in Category I, ages 14 and under, was Sharlyn Ezyk, 10, of Clarkston, with her poem, ‘Moon Light.? Second place went to the poem, ‘Beavers,? by RJ Compton, 10, of Holly. The third place winner was Miranda Cheers, 10, of Ortonville, with her poem, ‘Wind.?
Category II, ages 15 and over, gave first place praise to Carol Carpenter, 63, of Livonia for her poem, ‘The River of Us.? Second place went to the poem, ‘Tree,? by Rodney Warren, 41, of Ortonville. The third place poem was ‘Kearsley Creek 2007,? by Sam Muller, 67, of Flint.
