The Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan (CLF) announced that the Grays Reef Golf Classic, held at Indianwood Golf and Country Club in June, raised $121,000 in support of their organization, bringing the two year event total to nearly $250,000.
The outing was sponsored by Chevrolet and WJR and included a putting contest with Jennifer Hammond of FOX 2 and remarks from Dr. John Baker, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Children’s Hospital, and Laura Sala, a mother of a child with leukemia.
George Aho, President of E.C. Moore Company in Dearborn and resident of Plymouth, accepted the 2007 Gray’s Light Award for his family’s efforts over the last 10 years to raise money in support of the foundation and its mission.
‘All the participants helped to support Michigan children facing hurdles in their lives that most of us will fortunately never have to jump,? said event chairman Jeff Cavazos.
The Grays Reef event raises money to support CLF and the Michigan families affected by leukemia, lymphoma and related blood disorders.
